SCSI Channel Interface Definitions
SCSI Parity Checking
This function enables or disables the SCSI parity check. The default setting is [Enabled]. Change this setting only
when the connected SCSI device does not support SCSI parity checking. This setting is unlikely to require chang-
ing because most SCSI devices support parity checking.
Host Adapter SCSI Termination
This function enables or disables SCSI termination on the SCSI host adapter card and of the SCSI cable. The
AVA-1502AP SCSI Host Adapter card only supports externally connected SCSI devices. Therefore, the default
setting, [Enabled], must remain unchanged.
Additional options
SCSI Device Configuration
Selecting this option displays the following items for each SCSI ID:
• Initiate Sync Negotiation
This setting toggles the synchronous data transfer function on and off to control the transfer of data between the
SCSI host adapter card and a SCSI device. The default setting is [Yes]. This should only be changed to [No] if a
SCSI device does not support synchronous data transfers.
• Maximum Sync Transfer Rate
This setting cannot be changed. The AVA-1502AP SCSI Host Adapter card supports a maximum synchronous
data transfer of 5.0 megabits per second.
