When LoggerNet is co-located with the base station, a USB or serial cable
makes the connection between the RF451 radio and the LoggerNet computer.
The physical configuration of the base station has this form:
Antenna <--> RF451 <--> RS-232 or USB cable <--> LoggerNet computer
When a telemetry device is used to make a remote connection between the
RF451 base station and the LoggerNet computer, the serial communications
between them are transmitted over a different medium. The following physical
configurations illustrate the use of TCP/IP connections made through wired
Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Cell-modem media:

Other cell modems could be substituted for the RV50, other Wi-Fi-to-serial
devices for the NL240, and other serial-to-TCP/IP devices for the NL201.

It is possible to designate the CRVW3 as the master radio of an RF451 radio
network, and use it as the base station. This should only be done if a permanent
USB cable connection can be maintained between the base CRVW3 and the
LoggerNet
computer. It is expected that this configuration will be used only
rarely. The physical configuration of the base station will have this form:
Antenna <--> CRVW3-RF451 set as Master <--> USB cable connection <-->
LoggerNet computer
10.2.7 Planning RF407 Radio Networks
The CRVW3 can be purchased with the –RF407 communications option (i.e.,
as a CRVW3-RF407). This manual refers to the radio networks used by
CRVW3-RF407 devices as
