10.2 Planning the Radio Network
When automatic collection is used on a radio network, the data flows from the
sensors (which are the initial source of the data) all the way to the LoggerNet
computer station. You should determine what kind of station you need at every
step along that communications pathway. It is recommended that you plan your
network (at least with a preliminary analysis) before making your initial
hardware purchase.

You can divide your network up conceptually into two sides and a center area.
On one side the sensors are measured and on the other side LoggerNet collects
the data. On the sensor side, you will start by identifying where sensors will be
located and where you will place CRVW3 stations to measure those sensors.
On the LoggerNet side, you should decide where the LoggerNet computer
station will be located and how it will communicate with the base radio station.
The location of the base station should also be determined. To bridge the two
sides of the network, you should determine where you need to set up CRVW3
devices as repeater stations, and where you should introduce dedicated repeater
stations.
