Determine which channel on the CRVW3 will be used for each sensor.
Unscrew and remove the gland connector on the outside of the enclosure that
corresponds to the channel currently being installed. Remove the gland capping
pin, and feed the removed gland connector over the bare leads on the end of the
sensor cable and position it a few inches down the cable. Now feed the cable
through the gland hole. Before securing the gland, first connect the leads to the
proper terminals on the CRVW3.
FIGURE 8-6. CRVW3 Cable Connection and Entry Points
Connect the two leads of the coil circuit to the two
VW
terminals on the face of
the CRVW3 inside the enclosure. Choose the terminals that correspond to the
desired channel (1, 2, or 3). Since the polarity of the coil circuit for sensor
excitation and read-back makes no difference in the final measurement result, it
doesn’t matter which coil wire is connected to which
VW
terminal. If the
sensor has a thermistor, connect the two thermistor leads to the
T
and
T
terminals. Similarly, it doesn’t matter which thermistor lead is wired to which
T
terminal. Connect the shield wire to the ground connector.
