CRVW3 3-Channel Vibrating-Wire Datalogger
97
When using the –ALK option, the D-cells on the device should be replaced
about once every 12 months. This may be needed more frequently if the
–RF451 or –RF407 radio is used, or if measurements are made more frequently
than once every 15 minutes. When using the –RC option, consider replacement
of the rechargeable battery after several years of use.
12.1.2 Sensor Spectrum Checks
You should periodically verify that the CRVW3 is making proper readings
from its sensors. During installation or during on-site maintenance, this can be
done using the
Troubleshoot
tab in
DevConfig
Measurement Operation of the CRVW3
(p. 27)
(p. 47)
. There is a way to make a similar spectrum check on a
CRVW3 using
LoggerNet
and a remote connection (i.e., if the device has a
radio option). The creation of a binary file can be triggered, and then that file
can be retrieved to the
LoggerNet
computer station using
File Control
.
DevConfig
can then be used to view the spectrum and diagnostic contents
associated with that file. In this way, you can see the spectrum information on a
remote CRVW3 without making a field-visit.
Follow this process to check the spectrum on a remote CRVW3 station:
1.
Use
Connect Screen
to establish a connection to the CRVW3 station of
interest.
2.
Open the
Status
table in the
Table Monitor
dropdown.
3.
Set the
Channel_Diag
value to match the channel to be tested (1, 2 or 3).
4.
Set the Low Frequency and High Frequency desired (in Hz) for the
measurement using the
Begin_Freq_Diag
and
End_Freq_Diag
fields.
5.
Set the excitation level for the measurement using
Excitation_Opt_Diag
.
Use 120 for 12 V, 50 for 5 V and 20 for 2 V excitation.
