the call failed. Under Windows, PC208W can often continue calling the next site
while the existing command is running.
PC208W will not start a batch command (BatCmd) if that specific
command is already running. If two sites use the same BatCmd as
their ‘After Call Do’, the second command will not start until the
first execution has completed, when it will automatically start. Only
one execution is ‘queued’.
Once the network’s settings are saved, attempt to call the station manually and
collect data to make sure it is set up correctly.
To start PC208W to wait for incoming calls, use the Connect and Status
functions. The use of PC208W is fully explained in the PC208W manual.
(If using TCOM you must be viewing the Network Status window, accessed from
the menu bar (View/Network Status). As calls are answered and data is collected,
the Network Status window will update the information displayed on the screen.)
You can stop PC208W waiting for a call in several ways: you can Close the
Session or Terminate the call, de-select the
‘Allow Call-back on this
Port’
box (see Figure G-5) or exit the program.
(If using TCOM you could modify the COM Port’s Hardware configuration so
that callback is not allowed (by de-selecting the
‘Allow Call-back On This
Port’
box on the hardware screen), or exit TCOM.)
If a COM port is set up to ‘Allow Call-back’, the Storage
Module software (STG Module) may not function if there is a
COM port or IRQ conflict.
