within 25 feet of the indoor Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
• The 2364 ONT electronics panel may be mounted inside a building without the outer enclosure. When the 2364 ONT is
mounted in the outer enclosure use the following guidelines:
- The 2364 ONT should ideally be mounted on the side of the structure in a location where it is shaded from direct
summer sunlight which in some locations could raise the internal temperatures beyond the upper range of operat-
ing parameters.
- Avoid locating the 2364 ONT on dark colored walls with southern exposures where thermal loads in direct summer
sunlight can easily exceed the upper range of operating parameters.
- If you must mount the 2364 ONT on a dark colored wall, allow a gap of at least half an inch between the ONT and the
wall, allowing air to flow behind the ONT and cool the unit. A screen should be placed around the gap to prevent
bees, wasps and hornets from building a nest behind the ONT that would obstruct air flow.
- Locate the 2364 ONT in an area where it is out of direct water spray from an irrigation or sprinkler system.
3.3.1.2 UPS Site Guidelines
The UPS must be indoors and within six feet of an AC outlet. The UPS must also be located within 30 feet of the 2364 ONT.
This distance also includes the cable management.
3.3.2 Weatherproofing the 2364 ONT
When required, apply Dow Corning® High-Vacuum Grease to the connectors used by the Ethernet, POTS and DS1 ports.
This grease keeps all moisture out of the connectors and prevents the connections from being shorted out by conductive
corrosive solutions. Dow Corning® High-Vacuum Grease can be purchased from Calix.
For grease application instructions refer to Sections 3.10
