4. Click APPLY to apply your changes. Click CANCEL to return the display to the
current switch settings.
Enable Sets whether or not Spanning Tree is active on this port.
Priority Sets the port’s priority in the spanning tree algorithm. A port
with a higher priority is more likely to be chosen as the primary
path in the spanning tree.
Path Cost Sets the spanning tree path cost for this port. The ports that you
prefer be used by the spanning tree should have the lowest path
cost.
Fast Start Port transitions directly to forwarding without first learning the
topology of the spanning tree. This is a non-standard
implementation and should be used only when there is no
possibility of creating a loop at this port.
NOTE: Use this setting for end-station connections when a
quick up time is required.
