(1) Resolution, frame rate, acoustic averaging & time settings
On this page of the settings you can set the
following parameters:
acoustic frame rate
Normal
With this setting, you get approx. 50 acoustic images per second
during a measurement.
Quick
With this setting, you get approx. 100 acoustic images per second
during a measurement.
Camera resolution
320 x 240
If you select a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, you will receive approx.
50 camera images per second during a measurement.
640 x 480
If you select the resolution 640 x 480 pixels, you will receive approx.
16 camera images per second during a measurement.
acoustic averaging
The acoustic images are calculated on the device in real time, with each new value of the
microphone signals, and averaged exponentially.
Different averaging times can be set. The averaging is similar to the usual acoustic settings
"Fast", "Slow" and "Impulse", but the time constants are much smaller, as the acoustic image
would be much too sluggish with the usual values.
fast
With the "Fast" setting, the display is very responsive.
The setting is suitable for very dynamic processes.
slow
With the "Slow" setting, the display is a little more sluggish, the
image is calmer. The setting is suitable for quasi-stationary
conditions.
impulse
With the setting "Impulses", the level in the display rises quickly and
falls slowly, thus the location of the event is visible in the image for
longer. However, if highly dynamic processes with a sequence of
impulse-like sounds are to be examined, it is recommended to use
the "Fast" setting and to go through the recording step by step after
the measurement.
