The display of the measurement results is roughly divided into three sub-areas in the display area:
They visualise three measurement parameters in different ways, each of which is assigned a
scalable axis (X, Y, Z).
X: Timeline (in seconds)
Y: Frequency (in kHz)
Z: Amplitude (in dB, influences e.g. the colour ranges in the sonogram)
o
Result image: In the result image, the camera image is overlaid with the acoustic
image.
Acoustic image: The acoustic image is similar to the image of a thermal
imaging camera Instead of heat, sound is visualised.
Camera image: greyscale image of the installed camera.
o
Sonogram: Here, the level (amplitude) per frequency is shown in colour for a certain
period of time. A scale displayed on the right edge provides information about the
colours assigned to the sound level. Here the time axis (X), the frequency axis (Y),
which is to the right of the frequency spectrum, and the amplitude or level scale (Z)
can be scaled.
o
The set frequency range for the acoustic image (see Frequency filter, p. 15) is
highlighted brightly in the sonogram and set off with white lines.
o
Frequency spectrum: The graph to the right of the sonogram shows the level
(amplitude) per frequency at the current time. The frequency axis (Y) here is also the
one for the sonogram and can be scaled.
o
For further settings to improve the acoustic image, see Listening - focused sound, p.
12.
