Setup Screen

Status Bar

On the Setup screen with no patient ventilated, the status bar includes only the ventilator status and
the battery power status.

On the Setup overlay screen with a patient ventilated, the status bar and top portion of the screen
include additional elements. The status bar includes the Alarm History Notification and

Alarm

History

button. The top portion of the screen displays the active mode and includes the

Silence

Alarms

button. These features also occur on the Operation screens and are described in greater

detail in that section.

Mode Selection

The CAE Air1 ventilator can operate in one of three possible modes, selected from the Setup screen:

1.

Pressure Control (PC)

ensures the patient’s airway pressure during exhalation is

maintained at a constant, operator-defined level.

2.

Pressure Support (PS)

assists the patient’s own breathing to meet a set pressure level for

each breath.

3.

Volume Control (VC)

sets an operator-defined breathing gas volume for ventilator-

controlled respirations.

The Setup screen updates when a new mode is selected since different adjustable parameters are
available for each. The three mode versions of the Setup screen are shown in the following images.
