Cleaning Cautions
• Read Medivators Intercept Detergent and sodium hypochlorite bleach labeling
instructions before use for additional precautions.
• Use personal protective equipment including gloves, protective glasses and liquid
resistant gowns.
• To prevent possible damage to the ventilator, do not drip or spray any liquids directly onto
any surface including the front panel, touchscreen, and navigation ring.
• Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning materials (e.g. steel wool, metal brushes…) as
they will damage the equipment and cause irreparable damage to the touchscreen.
• Use only approved cleaning products.
• Use of cleaning and disinfecting agents other than the ones recommended per these
instructions may cause damage to the enclosure, touchscreen, or other parts of the
ventilator.
• Do not attempt to sterilize or autoclave the ventilator.
• Do not leave the ventilator with the touchscreen in direct sunlight for any extended time.
Ultraviolet light and excessive heat can damage the touchscreen.
Cleaning Procedure
The cleaning procedure is always to be performed before the disinfecting procedure.
1. Prepare soapy water with
Medivators Intercept Detergent
, as per the manufacturer's
recommendation at 1/3 oz (10 ml) per gallon (3.8L) of warm tap water or equivalent.
2. Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth or a disposable wipe with soapy water. The cloth/wipe
should be saturated, but not dripping.
Note:
Never squeeze the cloth/wipe while cleaning. Squeezing could cause dripping which
should be avoided as it could damage the equipment.
3. Wipe over the entire surface and touchscreen.
4. Continue wiping until all visible contaminants and soiling are removed.
5. Use swabs and soft-bristle brushes wetted with the soapy water as needed on seams or
corners, except on the touchscreen where only swabs can be used on seams and corners.
6. Rinse with a clean, water-dampened cloth and allow to dry completely.
7. Dispose of the cleaning products according to the product’s instructions or other use and
disposal information.
