Breakdown
After each use, the Fidelis should be properly disassembled and stored in a secure place. To ensure that
the Fidelis remains in good working condition, follow the prescribed CAE Healthcare breakdown
procedures below.
Step 1: Clean the Simulator and Fluid Systems
Each time the following are used during simulation, they must be cleaned of lubricant and fluids with a
soft cloth:
• Maternal airway
• Birth canals
• Cervices
• Abdomen
• Fetus
If internal fluid systems were used during simulation (e.g., vaginal bleeding, IV fluids, epidural,
genitourinary fluids), the fluid must be drained from the simulator and the fluid systems used must be
cleaned.

Step 2: Shut Down the Software
Shut down the Müse software and any optional TouchPro computers.
To shut down the Müse software on the Instructor Workstation:
a. In the Müse software, click the Disconnect icon on the Run screen.
b. Stop any running SCEs.
The Stop Simulation dialog box appears.
c. Click the Stop Simulation button.
The Simulation stops and returns to the Home page.
d. Click the Account Name in the lower, right-hand corner of the screen.
