• When the ECU detects a moderate to
severe front or side impact, and the
triggering conditions are met, the front
center airbag deploys to protect the
heads and shoulders of the driver and
the front passenger.
• If the impact occurs on the front
passenger side, the front center airbag
deploys even if there is no passenger in
the seat.
• For optimum front center airbag
protection, the occupant must have their
seat belt fastened and be sitting in an
upright position.
In a vehicle equipped with seat side airbags: In a vehicle equipped with seat side airbags:
• Do not let the backrests get wet. If they
get wet from rain or splashes, the side
airbag system may not work properly.
• Users are not to cover or replace
the backrest covers by themselves.
Unsuitable backrest covers may prevent
airbag deployment.
Side Curtain Airbags
• The vehicle is equipped with left and
right side curtain airbags (installed at
the junction of the body side trim and
the ceiling and marked with "Curtain
AIRBAG" on the A-pillar trim, B-pillar
trim, and C-pillar trim, as shown):
• when the ECU detects a moderate
to severe impact and the triggering
conditions are met, the curtain airbag
deploys to protect the occupant's head.
• When a side impact occurs, generally
only the airbag on the impacted side
deploys.
• For optimum curtain airbag protection,
the occupant must have their seat belt
fastened and be sitting in an upright
position.
