Replacing the Batteries 

a

 Warning: Use only the GasAlertMicro 5 IR battery pack with the GasAlertMicro 5 IR detector (not compatible with 

other Micro 5/PID models and vice versa). Refer to the warning label located on the battery pack lid. 

a

 Warning: Always deactivate the detector before removing the battery pack.  

The battery packs are user-changeable in hazardous areas, but the alkaline batteries inside the pack must be changed 
in a safe area that is free of hazardous gas. 

 

1. 

Open the latch on the bottom of the detector and remove the battery pack by lifting the bottom end of the pack upwards. 

2. 

Unscrew the two captive screws on the battery pack cover, open the pack, and replace the three alkaline batteries. 

3. 

Replace the battery pack cover and reinsert the screws. 

4. 

Replace the battery pack on the detector and secure the latch.
