BUSHNELL GOLF HYBRID LASER RANGE GPS (2018 Model)
Bushnell was the first (June 2010) rangefinder manufacturer to develop a golf rangefinder that
combined both a GPS unit and a Laser unit in one device. They discontinued selling this original
Hybrid at the end of 2017. At the Orlando PGA Merchandise Show in January 2018 they introduced a
new Hybrid Unit that we are describing here and how it is used with the Quick Clip.
While we
haven’t yet gotten our hands on the new Bushnell Hybrid for testing we did examine it
carefully at the PGA Show. It’s case is modeled exactly after the Bushnell Tour HYBRID. We
downloaded a picture of the new Hybrid from the Bushnell website. Unlike the original Pre-2018
Hybrid, this new Hybrid does not have the tripod socket mounting accessory. However, we have the
perfect solution (which we have been using since 2009) that is more secure and effective than using
the tripod socket screw. On the picture (see Hybrid picture attached
) we’ve drawn a white circle
showing specifically where our belt clip tab/3M VHB (

attached picture) should be placed. This location provides the optimum center of gravity.
Your Quick Clip package includes 3 of our modified belt clip tab/3M VHB adhesive disk assemblies (2
for spares - see pictures below), two alcohol cleaning prep pads and a couple extra 3M VHB adhesive
disks.
Instructions for attaching these modified belt clip tab/3M VHB adhesive disk assemblies to your
Hybrid
: Using an alcohol prep pad, clean that spot on your Hybrid and allow to air dry. This removes
any oils, sweat, grease and other yucky stuff so the adhesion is optimized. Peel the paper backing off
the belt clip tab/3M adhesive assemblies.
Very carefully
place the belt clip tab on the spot as shown in
the Hybrid picture.
CAUTION:
The belt clip tab/3M adhesive will want to stick immediately to whatever
it touches so use care when placing it on the spot and try not to touch the adhesive with your fingers.
Apply some pressure on the belt clip tab for about 30 seconds.
Allow it to “set and cure” for a minimum of 48 hours (72 hours if possible is even better) before using
your HYBRID in the Quick Clip keyhole slot. That will enhance the adhesive properties of the 3M VHB
adhesive disk. The 3M adhesive is a visco-elastic polymer that is extremely strong and durable. By
allowing 48 to 72 hours “curing time”, the visco-elastic adhesive molds itself over time into the
microscopic imperfections of the two joining surfaces.
If you have any doubts at all about the extreme holding power of the 3M VHB adhesive, below in blue is
a link to a 3M document that includes the full details as well as videos of the 3M VHB adhesive. To

VERY IMPORTANT
: If you follow the directions “to the letter”, the belt clip tab/3M adhesive disk
assembly will stick instantly and you won’t be able to remove it using your fingers/hands (you may draw
blood). It certainly cannot come off during your everyday use on the golf cart. If you ever need to
remove the belt clip tab, simply warm the adhesive with a hair dryer. The adhesive will soften and you
can peel off the belt clip tab, though it still won’t be easy. Don’t try to re-use that 3M adhesive that you
peeled off as it loses some of its adhesive properties. Remove it and use a fresh 3M adhesive disk. You
can re-use the black rectangular belt clip tab. Remove any remaining adhesive and clean it thoroughly
with an alcohol wipe or a clean cloth with a dab of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Carefully (see CAUTION
