Appendix 4: Remote commands
Certain facilities can be controlled remotely by sending an SMS text
message to the Burnside unit from another phone.
To use remote commands
• Send an SMS message to the unit, formatted as follows:

After the terminal PIN (no
space), include the first
two characters (

) of the
appropriate command -

Note: The two command
characters are not case
sensitive.
The forward landline
commands allow you
to optionally specify
a forwarding number
(
ffffffff
).
If no number is given,
the unit will use the
last number speci-
fied. If no last number
is stored, it will return
an error message.
When specifying inter-
national numbers use
format
+nn12345678
.
Where
nn
is the coun-
try code.

Restart the unit.

ATUS
Return status information to the caller (see next page).

WH

Returns a list of up to five landline numbers plus time and
date received.

LI
ST
Returns a list of up to eleven last received landline numbers.
Call register and tariff counter commands
•
AL
ERT
Set the tariff action to alert only.
•
TA
RIFF
Returns the status of the tariff counter.
•
RE
SET
Reset the tariff counter.
Forward landline commands
•
FO
RWARD Set call forwarding to the number specified and ring
local phone. If no number provided, unit will use the last number
specified. If no number is stored, it will return an error message.

SI
LENT As per FORWARD except the local phone will not ring.
•
RI
NG As per FORWARD with an announcement to the caller.
•
AN
NOUN As per FORWARD with announcement but not ring phone.
•
CA
NCEL
Cancels call forwarding.
Note: When specifying international numbers in

Landline dial through commands

ENTITY Enables dial through, matches Caller ID with phonebook.

N Enables dial through and requires PIN entry.
