If you are working with a unit that uses the 

ORBCOMM

 satellite network for 

communications (the SDT16-ORB) complete the following steps to install the mounting 
bracket, antenna, antenna surge protector, and antenna cable. 

If you are working with a unit that uses the 

SkyWave-Inmarsat

 satellite network for 

communications (the SDT16-SAT), skip the following steps and continue with step

 4

 on 

the next page.

Use two (2) lag bolts to mount the bracket on a pole or other type of mounting surface. 
See the next figure for an example.

MPORTANT

: 

Mount the bracket in a position that allows the antenna to be located at least 

two (2) feet above the solar panel and facing in the same direction as the closest 
ORBCOMM GES. The antenna must have a clear line-of-sight with no obstructions, such 
as trees, hills, or buildings.
