MotionSensor
Once the sensor has been installed, user can operate the
settings on the device in the following manner.
1. Turn ON the power.
2. Move around the detection area and the lights
will turn ON. When no motion is detected, the lights
will be turned OFF after a period of time.
Operation Instructions
Take care of the following measures while using the sensor.
• The rated load should not go beyond 500W.
• Do not install it on moist ceiling or wall.
• Do not damage the lens of the sensor.
• Do not place it close to temperature alteration
Zones such as air conditioners, central heating etc.
Troubleshooting & Safety Instructions
This motion sensor consists of the following control that can be adjusted by the users shown in
Figure 1.
Time Threshold Adjuster
This adjuster ranges from
• Left most
position: Lights turn OFF after 5 secs if no motion is detected (fast response).
• Right most position: Lights turn OFF after a period of up-to 480 secs.(Max.) If no motion
is detected (slow response).
This knob adjusts the threshold time period after which lights will be turned OFF when there is no motion in the
room. This means, if a person leaves a room and the lights are ON, then the sensor would take a few seconds
to turn OFF the lights. Also, if a person is sitting still inside a room without much movement, the light turns OFF
after the threshold period, however if the person keeps moving in the room the light remains ON.

Specification
BuildTrack™ Motion Sensor is a passive infrared (PIR)sensor that turns the lights ON/OFF based on motion
that it senses. It provides the convenience of not having to turn lights ON/OFF manually and automatically
works to conserve energy wherever it is installed. The solution is not occupancy based, but allows lights to turn
ON instantly when human movement is sensed (through a Passive Infrared sensor) and it uses a delay timer to
ensure that the lights turn OFF only after a pre-set period of lack of motion.
This is a solution
that is intended primarily for bathrooms, kitchens and passageways or common areas. Avoid
connecting the sensor to loads that exceeds 500W. Please refer
Table 1
for technical specifications of the
product.

Turn off the power to the load before connecting the wires. Please do not connect any load to the
sensor that exceeds 500W.
Safety Information
Step 1:
Identify the placement location of the sensor. For best results the sensor is usually placed on the ceiling.
Step 2:
Switch off the power to the electrical circuit
where you will be working. Always use a voltage tester to
ensure the power is still off.
Step 3:
Take the mounting plate and mount
it to the wall by fixing the screws through the holes available on
the plate as shown in
Figure 1.
Tighten the screws using a screw driver.
Step 4:
Connect the wires coming out from the back side of the sensor to the circuit as shown in
Figure 2
.
1. Connect the black wire of the sensor to the neutral wire of the light fixture and also to the load.
Twist the wires together and wrap an electrical tape over it or else put a wire nut over it and screw
them until tight.
2. Connect the yellow wire of the sensor to the load.
3. Connect the red wire of the sensor to the line. To check the line connection, use a voltage tester.
Step 5:
Adjust the timing adjustor knob shown in
Figure 1
using either a screw driver or a coin to turn them.
This may be iterative till the desired satisfactory setting is reached for the user’s needs.
Step 6:
Attach the sensor to the Mounting Plate using the interlocking knobs as shown in
Figure 1.
