Chapter 3  Troubleshooting

Power Problems

If the power LED is not lit when power is connected, this could be a problem with the power outlet, 
power cord, or internal power supply. Check that the power cord is firmly connected to a known-
good supply of power. If the power LED still doesn’t come on, there may be a problem with the 
internal power supply unit.

Access from the Network

You can use a web browser to access and manage the switch from anywhere on the network to 
which it is connected. However, you must configure a valid IP address, subnet mask, and default 
gateway settings on the switch in advance. Check the following points if you are unable to establish 
a link with the switch.
•  The network connection is valid.
•  The switch has a valid IP address.
•  The connected port is not disabled.
•  There are no problems with the connected Ethernet cable.
