Contactors in the BMS
The contactors in the BMS (HV+ and HV-) can be controlled by the customer, e.g. via terminal 15. The contactors
disconnect the power supply to the HV cables. This prevents unwanted current flows. This way the vehicle is in a
secure state. To energise the contactors a peak inrush current of 3.7 A per contactor is required.
The contactors are generally automatically closed in the following states:
BMS_Active
BMS_NLG_Charger
In all other states, the contactors are open. The BMS_Precharge state is an exception. In this state the contactors
are closed in coordination. See chapter
6.9 Regulation and Control System.
3.4.6
Emergency Stop Switch
The emergency stop switch must be engaged by the customer. We recommend installation in the passenger
compartment area. The operator (driver) must be able to reach the emergency stop button in any situation. The
emergency stop switch must be installed in such a way that it influences the BMS power contactors directly. The
emergency stop switch must be designed for a continuous current of 1 A and a peak current of 10 A. The
emergency stop switch performs as an
opener
(on activation the breaking of the circuit takes place).

Requirements of the Start-up Personnel
All courses of action described in this manual may only be carried out by a qualified electrician! Specialist staff are
defined as electricians who dispose of
professional training,
knowledge and experience in the field of high voltage electronics / electric mobility,
as well as knowledge of relevant requirements and dangers
which they can display in practice. Furthermore, they must be able to assess the work assigned to them
independently, detect possible dangers and establish necessary protection measures.
