Figure 7.7:

Replacing the Rotary Valve - step 3

Release the flex lines from the rotary valve
(1).

Disconnect the motor cord from the rotary
valve.

Remove the four M 6 x 35 screws at the
front plate (2).

Remove the insulation tube from the con-
nection line.

10. Restore the rotary valve carefully back in the

supplied box.

11. Mount the new rotary valve following the

instructions given in chapter

”Mounting the

Rotary Valve and Flex Lines” on page 4-
61

13. Check if the temperature shown on the

display of the External Temperature Control
Unit is 90 K.

14. Close the stop valve (1) and remove it from

the KF 16 flange.

15. Remove the three fixing screws M 6 (2).

16. Lift the cold head out of the turret by turning

the 3 adjustment screws (3) until the top O-
Ring of the turret sealing becomes visible.
Prevent tilting of the cold head.

17. Remove the cold head out of the turret. To

pass the helium flow system tilt the cold
head to the center of the magnet system.

18. Put the cold head into the Cold Head Stand

or upside down on a flat surface.
