6 Service
The first filling of the granulate lasts for at least one year. To ensure
smooth function, the neutralisation unit must be inspected once per year
and serviced if necessary.
See
In addition to the information in these assembly instructions, the
Installation Manual
of the gas-fired condensing boiler must be
observed.
6.1
Function check
1. Check level.
If the level is under the display of the filling height label, granulate
must be added.
Important
Neutralisation can only be done if the granulate is flowing.
The granulate level must always be over the condensate
level!
2. Measure the pH value with indicator strips.
With a pH value < 6.5, the neutralisation unit must be serviced.
6.2
Performing service
1. Disconnect the pump from the power supply.
2. Remove the inlet and outlet connections.
3. Remove the neutralisation pipe out of the brackets.
4. Open the hose clamp on the service cover and remove the service
cover.
5. Pour out granulate completely into a suitable container (e.g., bucket).
6. Loosen clumps of granulate.
7. Clean neutralisation pipes with water.
Caution
Do not use sharp objects during cleaning, since this could damage
the housing!
8. Fill granulate to the filling height label in the vertically positioned
neutralisation pipes.
Important
In a horizontal position must be a clearance of min. 4 cm
maintained above the granulate.
9. Reattach service cover and fasten with hose clamp.Pay attention to
the arrow mark on the service cover for correct positioning.
10. Reconnect the inlet and outlet connections.
11. Reconnect the pump to the power supply.
12. Pull off the air hose and check for function.
13. Check all connections for leaks.
14. Attach
Service
label clearly visible on the used gas-fired condensing
boiler.
15. Log service in the
Proof of Service
(see
appendix
)
6.3
Disposal of the granulate
The granulate disposes of itself automatically. The acids contained in the
condensate combine to form fully soluble salts, which are widely used in
nature. The granulate is approved for DHW treatment. Granulate residue
can be thermal disposed of in the normal household rubbish. If this is not
ensured, the type of disposal must be obtained from the competent
authority.
