Figure 3.2-19 shows the reset timing when the power is first applied or cut off or when the battery
output drops below the specified level.

When the machine is loaded with batteries or its AC adapter is plugged in, pressing the On/Off key
raises the +5 source Vcc which feeds power to the logic circuitry. When the Vcc reaches approx.
4.2V (point "A"

in Figure 3.2-19), the reset IC PST600D (Q2) operates to turn the RESET from

Low to High.

When the power is cut off or the battery output drops so that the Vcc drops below approx. 4.2V
(point "B"), the RESET turns from High to Low.
