4.1.6 Time setting error
4.1.7 A document jam occurred.
4.1.8 The document scanning sensor detected that the document was longer than 5 m
when the Long Paper setting was used.

- Check the settings.
Step Cause Remedy
1 Main PCB failure Replace the main PCB ASSY.
<User Check>
- Check that the document size is within the standard. If it is too small or light, use a
carrier sheet (Models with carrier sheet only).
- Check that the document is not wrinkled. If wrinkled, use a carrier sheet (Models with
carrier sheet only).
- Check that the document is not torn. If torn, use a carrier sheet (Models with carrier
sheet only).
- Check that the document is not damp. If it is damp, use a carrier sheet (Models with
carrier sheet only) or dry it.
- Check that the front cover is closed correctly.
- Check that the document guide is adjusted to suit the document size.

failure Reattach the reverse roller cover.

failure Reattach the pick up roller cover.

in the feeding system Reattach the gears in the feeding system.

7 Belt attachment failure Reattach a belt.
8 Feed motor failure Replace a feed motor.
