PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
To avoid creating secondary problems by mishandling, follow the warnings below during
maintenance work.
WARNING
•
If your clothes are smeared with toner, wipe the toner with a dry cloth immediately
and wash the clothes in cold water to avoid stains.
•
Be careful to inhale toner.
•
Always turn off the power switch and unplug the power cord from the power
outlet before accessing any parts inside the printer.
•
Some parts inside the printer are extremely hot immediately after the printer is used.
•
When opening the front cover or back cover to access any parts inside the printer,
never touch the shaded parts shown in the following figures.
1. CONSUMABLE PARTS
The consumable parts described in this section are parts which are subject to deterioration or
damage and should be replaced at least once during the period of warranty of the product if
any printing quality problem appears.
1.1 Toner
Cartridge
A new toner cartridge can print up to 3,500 (standard cartridge) or up to 7,000 (high yield
cartridge) A4 or Letter size single-sided pages at about 5% coverage.
NOTE:
* The amount of toner used varies according to what is printed on the page and the print
density setting.
* If the print density setting for lighter or darker printing is changed, the amount of toner
used will change.
* Wait to unpack the toner cartridge until immediately before putting it into the printer.
* There are many factors that determine the actual toner life, such as temperature, humidity,
type of paper used, the number of pages per print job, etc.
