ASIC USE
To select or change your Answer Mode

Press Receive Mode . The screen displays your current selection.
The options on FAX-1020e are:

Or, if TAD Mode is switched ON by pressing
( DIGITAL TAD button), it overrides your Answer
Mode Setting, so the display shows:

Continue to press
Receive Mode
until your new selection appears. After 2 seconds, the screen
returns to the date and time display, along with your new Answer Mode setting.
Setting the Ring Delay
The Ring Delay setting determines the number of times the machine rings before it answers. (See
Operation from an External or Extension Telephone , page 42 and For F/T (Fax/Tel) Mode Only ,
page 42.)

Press Menu/Set , 2 , 1 . If you have a FAX-1020e, go to Step 3.

Press or to select RING DELAY , and press Menu/Set .

Press or to select how many times the line rings before the machine answers, and press
Menu/Set
when the screen displays your selection.

If you are changing Answer Mode while in another operation, the screen returns to
the current operation display.
(Only for FAX-1030e)
When Toll Saver is
ON , it overrides your Ring Delay setting. Toll Saver must be
off for the machine to operate using your Ring Delay setting. (See Setting the
Toll Saver , page 68.)
