OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT
EXPOSE THIS UNIT TO RAIN
OR MOISTURE.
The lightning flash
with arrow-head
symbol within an
equilateral triangle is
intended to alert the
user to the presence of uninsulated
“dangerous voltage” within the unit’s
enclosure that may be of sufficient
magnitude to constitute a risk of
electric shock.
The exclamation point
within an equilateral
triangle is intended to
alert the user to the
presence of important
operating and maintenance (servicing)
instructions in the literature
accompanying the unit.
IMPORTANT
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
All of the safety and operating
instructions should be read, adhered
to and followed before the unit
is operated.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before use with an appliance,
check the manufacturer’s voltage
and wattage rating, which should
be located on the appliance.
CAUTION: Adapters alone do not
convert voltage. To avoid damaging
your appliance, determine whether
or not you need to use a voltage
converter with the adapter.
2. Do not leave the adapter in a
power outlet when not in use.
3. Do not continue to use the
adapter if it is not working
properly, has been damaged, or
dropped in water.
4. Some appliances may operate
a little more slowly when used
in foreign countries operating on
50 cycles (the U.S. operates on
60 cycles).
5. There may be a very low humming
sound in the adapter, appliance,
or both. This is normal.
6. Due to unstable voltage in most
foreign countries, your appliance
may shut off prematurely if it has
a built-in thermostat. After your
appliance cools down it should
resume operating correctly.
7. This adapter is intended for
adult use only. This adapter
is NOT intended for use by
unsupervised children. Directly
supervise children using
appliances connected to this
adapter.
8. Do not use this adapter if the
housing is damaged.
9. Never force the adapter into a
power outlet.
10. Always check the outlet voltage
before using a converter or
adapter with your appliance.
11. When connecting or
disconnecting the adapter, always
hold the adapter by its sides.
12. Do not dispose of the adapter
in a fire.
HOW TO DETERMINE WHETHER
AN APPLIANCE IS SINGLE OR
DUAL VOLTAGE:
Converters change the power going
to your appliance. Adapters change
the plug shape. This Global Adapter
enables you use U.S. dual-voltage
110/120-volt appliances with
220/240-volt outlets worldwide.
It does not convert power. Use only
with dual-voltage appliances, or in
combination with a converter.
Check the appliance label for voltage
information. Dual-voltage appliances
will list 110V/220V AC, 120V/240V
AC. On some appliances there is a
switch to change the voltage.
Single-voltage appliances will
indicate 110V AC or 120V AC only.
A voltage converter must be used
in combination with the adapter for
appliances that are single-voltage.
Items such as laptop computer
battery chargers, camera battery
chargers, and smartphones may
automatically adjust to 110V or 220V
power. Check for a label on your
charger or smartphone for the phrase
“Wide Range Input.” This specifies
that the unit supplies dual voltage.
