SoloCAM User Manual
Please be patient!
The controls operate with very little delay, but if a LiveU-type 3G/4G
bonding device is being used to transmit the video, there may be up to a 2 second lag on the
link, meaning any control inputs will not be seen in the studio during the lag period. When
setting the shot, move the controls slowly and wait for a response before driving the camera
again. With practice, you will get the hang of it!
Camera Controls
Iris Open/Close
– the camera exposure control is automatic but can be over-ridden by
these controls. The manual setting is cancelled as soon as the camera is moved.
Focus Near/Far
– the camera is auto-focussing, but this function can be over-ridden by
these controls. The manual setting is cancelled as soon as the camera is moved.
Zoom In/Out

up to x20 optical zoom
Up arrow
– pan up
Down arrow
– pan down
Left arrow
– pan left
Right arrow
– pan right
PTZ Speed
–
a slider bar used to set the speed of the camera controls. Place your cursor on
the blue square and slide left or right to select the desired speed.
Monitor Controls
Monitor Int/Ext
– used to switch the screen between camera pictures and the external
HDMI input. The button label will change between “Monitor Int” and “Monitor Ext” depending
on the current status.
Monitor On/Off
– used to switch the screen on or off (some contributors may find the
camera output off-putting). The button label w
ill change between “Monitor Off” and “Monitor
On” depending on the current status.
Video & Audio
Video Locked
indicates that the camera video is active.
Microphone Level
is a fader control which sets the level of the microphone input. There is a
bargraph display next to the fader control. The audio should peak at the first yellow bar when
the contributor speaks at normal volume.
