INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
BE SURE POWER IS TURNED OFF AT THE MAIN POWER PANEL OR FUSE BOX PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OR REPLACING FIXTURE.
1. Remove old lighting fixture. If installing at a new location, contact a qualified electrician.
2. Insert two (2) Fixture Mounting Screws
(D)
, as shown in Figure 1, through back of Swivel Mounting Bracket
(C)
.
3. Attach Swivel Mounting Bracket
(C)
onto the junction box using two Mounting Bracket Screws (G). Pull the supply
wires from the junction box and past the Mounting Bracket
(C)
in preparation for wiring as shown in Figure 1.
4. WIRING – See Figure 2
a. Connect the Black wire from the fixture to the Black wire of the supply circuit using Wire Connectors
(B)
.
b. Connect the White wire from the fixture to the White wire of the supply circuit using Wire Connectors
(B)
.
c. Connect the GREEN wire from the fixture to the GREEN or copper ground wire from the junction box using
Wire Connector (B). NOTE: Some junction boxes may NOT have a ground wire. In this case, attach GREEN wire from the fixture
to ground screw located on the mounting bar.
5. Tuck wires into junction box.
6. Attach Wall Light to junction box over the two (2) Fixture Mounting Screws
(D)
- which you installed onto Mounting Bracket (C) earlier,
then secure using two (2) Nut Caps
(F)
as in Figure 3. Tighten Nut Caps
(F)
clockwise.
7.
IMPORTANT:
Apply a weatherproof silicone caulk or sealant around the fixture base to reduce chance of water leaking into the fixture body.
8. Turn ON the power. This fixture is NOT dimmable.
MOTION SENSOR SETTINGS -
Observe the two (2) controls on the bottom of the Lantern Base (A) – Figure 4.
INITIAL SET-UP
NOTE: This unit requires a warm-up of approximately 30-40 seconds after power is applied for the system’s circuits to stabilize and before sensor can assume normal activity.
RANGE
• Turn RANGE dial fully counterclockwise. This is the minimum sensitivity setting.
• Have a person stand in the approximate center of your targeted detection area and instruct person to wave their arms.
• Slowly rotate the RANGE dial clockwise until the light goes ON. Motion will now be detected at this setting.
• NOTE: The RANGE dial can be rotated either direction to increase or decrease your sensitivity setting. Clockwise will increase the motion
sensor sensitivity. Counterclockwise will decrease the sensor sensitivity. A lower setting (counterclockwise) would reduce false
triggering by small animals.
TIME (Duration)
• Adjust the TIME dial fully counterclockwise to minimize the time the light will be ON after motion is detected. Minimum ON duration is
approximately one (1) minute.
• Turn the TIME dial clockwise to increase the time the light is ON after motion is detected. Maximum ON duration is approximately eight (8)
minutes.
• NOTE: Every time motion is detected, the timer (TIME setting) will restart. The light will remain on until the last movement is detected,
then will turn OFF per your selected time setting.
TEST
• Turning the TIME dial fully counterclockwise will put motion sensor in TEST mode (T). This will deactivate the photocell and allow the motion sensor to be active during daylight hours.
FOR OPTIMAL OPERATION
• Unit should be mounted 7 feet above the ground for best operation.
• Unit should be located away from air conditioners, barbeque grills, and other sources of heat the motion sensor may detect.
• Unit works properly in temperatures ranging from -10°C to 40°C. Very hot weather can reduce sensor sensitivity, while colder weather may increase sensitivity.
MANUAL OVERRIDE FEATURE
If the security floodlight is connected to an outlet controlled by a wall switch, the Manual Override Feature is available. The Manual Override Feature allows the unit to be turned ON or OFF manually
during the night, bypassing the motion sensor.
MANUAL OPERATION
To manually turn the floodlight ON, turn the wall switch OFF and then ON again immediately within 2 seconds. The floodlights will turn ON and remain ON until the wall switch is turned OFF. If the wall
switch was previously turned OFF for a period of time, turn the wall switch ON for at least 5 seconds, and then use the OFF- ON procedure above to turn the floodlight ON manually. To manually turn
the floodlight OFF, simply turn the wall switch OFF. The unit will not activate as long as the wall switch is in the OFF position.
RESETTING TO AUTOMATIC OPERATION
To return the security floodlight to automatic operation, turn the wall switch OFF for at least 5 seconds and then turn the switch back ON. The security floodlight will come ON for the time duration set,
and then turn OFF. The floodlight will now activate according to the settings on the motion sensor. Leave the wall switch in the ON position to operate the floodlight in automatic mode.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Does not function at all
• Make sure wall switch (if applicable) is ON and that the wiring is correct.
• Check that the circuit breaker, fuse, and main circuit breaker or main power switch are ON.
Light cycles ON and OFF
• Re-locate fixture away from heat sources such as street, active sidewalk, barbecue grill, etc.
• Turn RANGE control more counter-clockwise.
Light is continuously ON
• If there is no wall switch, turn the circuit breaker OFF for at least 2 seconds and then turn circuit breaker back ON again.
