BS-9000-WD
uses the same fundamental operation as previous Brigade Backsense BS-70xx
and BS-8000 systems, settings are fully configurable: Detection length, detection width, zones
length, blind length, blind width and blind zones, trigger output length and buzzer starting
zone. Refer to section
“4 Configurable System BS-9000-WD”.
3.7 Initial System Power Up and Test
Once the sensor and display are installed and connected, power should be applied to test
correct system operation. On power up, the display will go through its self-test by sounding the
buzzer and illuminating the Status Light red and all Zone Lights. On initial connection of a new
(unconfigured) sensor the display will need power cycling. The display will alternate the power
and error LEDs indicating that a power cycle is required. This is required to complete
configuration of the sensor. After about 5 seconds only the Status Light should show red
colour. When the activation input becomes active (e.g. reverse gear is selected to apply power
to the activation input) the status light turns green and the system is in detection mode. Check
the system is operating correctly in an open area with no obstructions.
3.8 Volume Button Functionality
By default, the volume button is locked for safety reasons, a long press of 20 seconds is
required to unlock the volume button. Once unlocked, if no user input is received within 10
seconds, the volume is locked. If the user continues to press the button after 20 seconds
without releasing, the display will countdown 10 seconds and remain in locked state. The
display will only enter unlocked state on button release. The default Sound Pressure Level
(SPL) is medium. Previous volume level setting is stored by the display.
Non-detecting mode is defined as active wire being triggered but no object is detected, active
wire is not being triggered or any other states where there is no detection beeping occurring.
Detecting mode is defined as active wire being triggered and object/s is/are being detected.
During demonstration of a new volume level, user input will not change the volume level.
