BIOS setting Meaning Setting options Effect
ATA/IDE
Configuration Option for configuring the integrated
PATA and SATA controller. Compatible Both controllers run in Legacy or Compatible
Mode.
Disabled Both controllers disabled.
Enhanced Both controllers run in Enhanced or Native Mode.
Legacy IDE
Channels Option for configuring the Legacy IDE
channels in Compatible Mode. SATA Pri, PATA Sec SATA drives are address primarily and PATA
drive secondarily.
SATA only Only use SATA drives.
PATA only Only use PATA drives.
Primary IDE master The drive in the system that is connected
to the IDE primary master port is
configured here. Enter Opens submenu
