Allow engine to cool before removing the filter bowl. Spilled fuel can potentially
ignite or explode.
•
Place a container underneath the filter assembly to catch any spilled fuel.
• Properly dispose of fuel according to State and Local regulations.
If water needs to be removed;
1.
Rotate the fuel shut off valve (Item 2,
Figure 4-6)
to stop the fuel flow from the tank.
2.
Place a suitable sized container beneath the filter assembly to catch any spilled fuel.
3.
Rotate the filter bowl (Item 1,
Figure 4-6)
and remove it from the filter assembly.
4. Dispose of the fuel and water in the bowl according to State and Local regulations.
5.
Reinstall and secure the filter bowl.
6. Reopen the fuel valve.
If the fuel bowl does not fill with fuel, it may be necessary to air bleed the fuel system.

7.
Release dirt from separator tube at the bottom of the air filter by squeezing the rubber dust
ejector valve (Item 1,
Figure 4–7
) underneath the air filter.
