11.6.8 Calculations on Speed and Feed
Overview
Tasks Calculations on speed and feed, shortly called working values, are very often
necessary in the part programming with machining, particularly if working val‐
ues are taken from tables and must be converted to the respective situation.
This calculation form covers the following tasks:

Conversion between cutting velocity and speed with known diameter in
both directions
● Conversion between feed velocity and feed per tooth and/or rotation with
known speed in both directions and
● Conversion of working values between the metric and the Anglo-American
metric system.
Layout The form for the calculations of the working values can be found on the "F,S"
tab.
The form provides editable text boxes for the numerical values. Behind the text
boxes that are in the fore and can be considered for a value transfer, buttons
for copying purposes are located.

Calculating the Cutting Velocity/Speed
Calculating speed The speed can be calculated in the following way:

Ensure that the metric system suitable for your entries is active. For the
Anglo-American metric system, "Metric system Inch" must be checked.
