- Place generator (4/5) in the clamping vee (4/7).
- Adjust the mounting table (4/6) in height and connect generator
(4/5) to the drive (4/1).
- Close protective cover.
- Slide clamping bracket (4/4) over generator (4/5) and mounting
table (4/6) and tighten lightly.
- Switch on main switch (36).
Indicator lamp (36) lights up.

RUN
push-button switch (33).
LED lights up.
- Start up the drive motor by turning the speed control (32).
i
The drive motor does not start when the speed control is
not in the >0< position.
Optical and acoustic indicators ensue.
!
Drive generator only at approx. 50 -100 rpm and use the
handwheel (3) to adjust height until coupling noises are
eliminated and the generator is running smoothly.
- Tighten spindle of clamping bracket (4/4) and lock handwheel (3).
- Actuate
MOTOR
push-button switch (35).
Indicator lamp (35) off!
The drive motor is now switched off.
For electrical connection, see section 6.2.

6. Generator Testing
i
A limit switch is actuated when closing the protective cover
to guard the rotating parts for direct and V-belt drives of
generators. This ensures that a generator test can only be
carried out when the protective cover is closed.
i
Larger swivel-arm-mounted AC generators (28 V, 60 A) can,
in some cases, not be mounted for direct drive and should
therefore be mounted for belt drive (see section 6.1.3).
i
If the fan pulley of generator is too big, use for testing a
smaller normal fan pulley.

- Depending on the size of the generator, place a single or a
double clamping vee (4/7) in the centre of the height-adjustable
mounting table (4/6).
- Fit a coupling half with appropriate socket wrench (4/3) to the
drive pulley of the drive motor (4/2).
