FlashWriter 14.8
Function 14.8.1
The program enables to install the Firmware-Updates
i
on the communication processor (Measuring box)
as well as the measuring and camera processor
(sensor). The program is a component of the user
software and thus is provided on every wheel
alignment gauge.
Path/Program file
The Flash-Writer is found in the path:C:\<program

files>\FWA-CCD\WheelAligner\FlashWriter

manually on the Flashwriter exe.

program process flow
The Firmware update is carried out in several steps, 1.
whose sequence and execution is dependent on
the lapse of the update process, the status of the
connected equipment and the program settings.
A screen page is displayed for every step, which

displays the information about the actions to be
executed, the currently running action or the result
of the action.
Once you have executed the actions asked by the

program or the result of the action is viewed, you
can change to the next step.
Function keys Fig. 7:
1 Changes the next program step.
2 Switches to the next program step.
3 Ends the current program run and changes the start page.
4 Calls the settings dialogue.
5 Calls the help document.
6 Ends the FlashWriter program.
All function keys are not displayed every time. Their

availability is dependent on the corresponding
program step.
Preparation of the program step 14.8.3
The axle measuring program and the CCD server 1.
must not be in operation.
End the programs if they are running.

taskbar.

The data of the connected equipment (measuring 1.
box and sensor) shall be determined and shall be
compared with the data of the Firmware file.
As long as the equipment can be updated

(depending on the equipment specification
and already received Firmware version), these
equipments are marked for an update and is
correspondingly identified in the screen view.
As long as the version check is not deactivated

(refer to chapter "Settings"), the result in this view
subsequently determines which equipment is to be
updated and which is not to be.
Changes, which results during lapse of the update
4.
process (e.g. can be updated after installing the
measuring processor firmware before the camera
that cannot be updated), shall not be considered.
Further program run is required for it.
