4.1.1 Leak test

The analysis system is purged for 20 sec. with zero gas

- Either suck up car exhaust gas*) via the exhaust sample
probe (the test gas pump can be switched on with the

- Or introduce test gas (with a proportion of 10-15% vol.
CO
2
) via the calibration-gas inlet (set admission pressure
on bottle-pressure reducer to 0.7 bar).
Once the analyzer recognizes the flow of CO
2
, the flashing
changes to a continuous display.
*) Use only test gas no. 1 for the half-yearly test, see

After a flow time of 20 seconds, the display switches to
"
Abd. Abd. Abd. Abd. Abd.
" seal ("abdichten").
- The analyzer automatically terminates flow through the
exhaust-sample probe via the pump by switching off the
pump.
- Manual flow through the calibration inlet must be termina-
ted manually.
In either of the above cases, the test-gas inlet must be sealed
off (e.g. by bending the intake hose).
The analyzer must be informed that the inlet has been sealed
off. To do this, press "Enter
o
".
The analyzer checks air-tightness (approx. 40 seconds) with
the pump running.

" (OK) is displayed if the exhaust-sample intake system
is sufficiently air-tight.
If error messages appear, perform trouble-shooting to
