7.4 Installation
CAUTION!
Equipment damage from insufficient cooling!
The heat generated by the
industrial PC’s high power
consumption can damage the industrial PC or other
devices and cause system errors.
Therefore:
– Only install the devices in housings/panels with
air vents.
– Select an installation depth that allows an air
current to circulate for cooling the devices.
– During installation, ensure that no other devices
or materials, such as cables, will be damaged
by the heat generated.
AHD-WNL and other possible devices, such as an AHD-DPU 9,
are installed in suitable locations that are protected specifically
from water, dust, and shock.
TIP!
When installing the devices, ensure that their inter-
faces can be accessed during installation and sub-
sequent maintenance tasks.
7.5 Connection to an AHD-DPU 9
Connect the AHD-DPU
9’s LAN port to AHD-WNL’s LAN1 port with
an Ethernet cable.
The other ports, inputs and outputs of the AHD-DPU 9 are used for
communicating with the
ship’s devices and bus system. Their utili-
zation is project-dependent; the connections can be found in the
project documentation.
The Ethernet ca
bles’ maximum length can be 100 m.
7.6 Connection to a Panel PC AHD 12XX
When connecting the device to a Panel PC AHD 12XX, the
AHD-WNL
’s LAN1 port is connected to the Panel PC’s LAN1 port.
7.7
Connection to the Ship’s Network
Connect the AHD-WNL
’s LAN2 port to the ship’s network with an
Ethernet cable.
