If an ABS error is displayed after
the ABS self-diagnosis is com-
pleted:
You may continue riding. Bear
in mind that neither the ABS
function nor the integral func-
tion is available.
Have the malfunction corrected
as soon as possible at a spe-
cialist workshop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad re-
tailer.
ABS self-diagnosis
The self-diagnosis routine checks
whether the BMW Motorcycle In-
tegral ABS is ready for operation.
The self-diagnosis routine runs
automatically when you switch on
the ignition.To check the wheel
speed sensors, the motorcycle
must be ridden a few meters
at a minimum speed of 3 mph
(5 km/h).

tor and warning lights.
An ABS error is indicated follow-
ing completion of the ABS self-
diagnosis routine.
