MAINTENANCE

To increase clutch play:

Tighten adjusting screw

into the handlebar fitting.

To reduce clutch play: Back

off adjusting screw

in the

handlebar fitting.

The distance between

lock nut and nut (meas-

ured internally) must not ex-

ceed 14 mm.

Consult a specialist workshop,

preferably an authorised

BMW Motorrad Retailer,

should it only be possible to

set the correct clutch play by

unscrewing further.

Check the clutch-lever play

(

193).

Tighten lock nut

while hold-

ing adjusting screw

COOLANT

Checking coolant level

Make sure the ground is level

and firm and place the motor-

cycle on its stand.

Turn the handlebars all the

way to the left.

Check the coolant level in ex-

pansion tank

. Viewing dir-

ection: From in front toward

the inside of the right side
