9.1 WEAR PARTS 

Certain portions of the blast unit are continuously exposed to high velocity 
abrasive. These areas and their corresponding parts must be periodically 
inspected for wear and erosion to keep from damaging components that are not 
normally exposed to the abrasive blast. The parts are identified on the service 
drawings later in this manual along with part numbers. These “wear parts” are 
designed to be easily replaced by the machine operator when necessary. A 
preventive maintenance program should be performed to monitor these areas on 
a regular basis. The following list outlines these areas and the time intervals 
involved.  See Figure 9.1.1 on page 46.
