Erase Buffer (/E)
Erases data from the buffer for a specified port. Note that you cannot specify
a port name; you must specify a port number or (to clear all port buffers) an
asterisk.
CAUTION!
Buffered data which has been cleared by the /E command cannot be
recovered.
Command Availability: All (Administrator)
Command Format: /E[/Y] n
where:
/Y [optionally] suppresses the “SURE? (Y/N)” prompt; and
n is the one- or two-digit number of the port whose buffer is
to be disconnected.
PM Switch Response:
Verbose: “SURE? (Y/N)”; if you then enter “Y,” the Switch will respond
with “OK”.
Terse: “5”; if you then enter “Y,” the Switch will respond with “0.”
Examples:
• To clear the buffer for Port 3, access the PM Switch Command Mode
from a port with “All” command capability and type “/E 3 [Enter]”.
• To clear all port buffers without having to deal with the “SURE? (Y/N)”
prompt, access the PM Switch Command Mode from a port with “All”
command capability and type “/E/Y * [Enter]”.
