Description

The

vlan-tag

command applies a specific VLAN tag to IKE negotiation packets. It is used in networks

that require a specific VLAN tag for all Ethernet traffic.

User Type

Administrator

Hierarchy Level

Remote interface configuration mode (config > remote-interface)

Syntax

vlan-tag {enable [<tag-priority>] [<tag-id>]} | {disable}

Attributes

enable –

Enables the VLAN tag function.

disable –

Disables the VLAN tag function.

tag-priority –

Sets the VLAN tag priority. Valid values range from 0–7. The default value is 0.

tag-id –

Sets the VLAN ID. Valid values range from 0–4094. The default value is 1.

Usage Guidelines

The vlan-tag command is needed when the following two conditions are met:

●

The ETEP is deployed in a Layer 2 point-to-point configuration

●

A specific VLAN tag is required for all Ethernet traffic sent through the network.

If you are operating in a network that uses VLAN tags, IKE negotiations will not complete successfully
until you have configured this command. This command does not apply to EncrypTight distributed key
policies.

Example

The following example enables the VLAN tag feature on the ETEP. The priority is set to 1 and the
VLAN ID is set to 4.
