Syntax

ike-sa-lifetime {<lifetime>}

Attributes

lifetime -

IKE Phase 1 SA lifetime in seconds. Valid values are 3600-31536000 seconds. The default

is 86400 (1 day).

Usage Guidelines

The IKE Phase 1 lifetime specifies the interval after which an SA must be replaced with a new SA or
terminated. When an IKE Phase 1 SA expires, packets are dropped until a new Phase 1 SA is
renegotiated. Longer lifetimes require less frequent renegotiations and result in fewer dropped packets.

The IKE SA lifetime is a global setting that will be used in all IKE encryption policies on the ETEP
management port.
