Filling of the rack
Switch the motor on and homogenize
the sample by gliding the „ball-bea-
ring head“ over the bags, using the
handle.
Remove spills of extraction buffer immediately fi rst with a soft cloth wetted with
water, then wipe dry - in particular when buffer entered the ball-bearing head.
Occasionally grease the two gliding axes (5) and the nipple (6) at the ho-
mogenizing unit. Check the holding-screws of the motor and the rack and
tighten them if necessary. Replace the aluminium bars holding the bags
when they look worn. They are made of „soft“ aluminium to prevent the ball-
bearing head from damage.
Store the HOMEX at a dry place to avoid corrosion. When not in use for se-
veral weeks/months, additionally wipe all metal parts with a soft cloth wetted
with oil (or by using an anti corrosion protection spray).
To change the rack, push the
knobs (2) at the two fi xing-
screws and pull the screws
out. Insert the rack and put the
screws back in position.
To change or clean the ball-bearing head, open fi rst the screw on
the side (3) and remove the cover-case. To remove the ball-bea-
ring head entirely, the head fi xation screw (4) has to be removed
as well.
Insert 1 to 5 extraction bags in the
open rack.
Close the rack by turning the two
clamping-screws (1) to fi x the bags
in the homogenization position.
