SECTION SIX - TROUBLE SHOOTING CHARTS

When Burner Will Not Light
Ensure no debris is evident in pilot flame strip on burner (e.g. soot deposits,
fluff etc.) which could cause a short circuit. If so, clean the flame strip area on
the burner with a HEPA filtered vacuum cleaner to remove debris.
Press the Piezo. Does it
spark at the electrode on the
main burner flame strip ?
No
Yes
Does the flame strip on the
Burner Light and cross light
to the main burner?
Is the control being operated
correctly ?
Consult section 5 of the
book (user operating instruc-
tions)
No
Does the burner light if ignition
is attempted with a match ?
Yes
Check igniter connection.
Ensure spark electrode gap is
as stated in Section 1 (appli-
ance information). If the gap
is OK, change the ignition
lead first and re-try. If the
burner still does not light,
change the piezo igniter

Is the gas supply isolated at the
isolation point on the burner
tray or at the gas meter ?
Yes
Check isloation tap on burn-
er tray, also checkon / off
valve at gas meter, then
re-try
Is the correct gas pressure
available for the gas category
of the product ?
No
Complete working pressure
test and rectify the gas
pressure if necessary
No
Yes
Does any air require purging
from the gas supply pipework ?
Yes
Purge air from the gas supply
pipework and re-try lighting the
burner
Yes
No
The gas supply pipework,
valve or injector is blocked,
replacement components will
be required
Product Working Correctly,
