7.3.7 Maintaining Quality ECG Signal
Regardless of patient age, electrodes should be
replaced at least every 24 hours to maintain quality
signals during long-term monitoring. Over the course
of 24 hours, the electrode gel will start to dry out and
the adhesive will age. After a long period of time, the
patient’s sensitive skin also may be irritated by the gel
or adhesive causing discomfort.
Stabilize the electrode and leadwire with a leadwire
stress loop near the electrode. Tape the stress loop to
the patient. A secured stress loop prevents leadwire
rotation about the electrode snap, leadwire tugging at
the electrode, and ECG artifact.
7.4 Changing ECG Settings
You can change the ECG settings from the ECG menu.
7.4.1 Entering the ECG Menu
Enter the ECG menu in either of the following ways:

On the main screen, tap the HR digital area or ECG waveform area.

Press the key to enter the main menu
→
tap Parameter Setup
→
select ECG .
7.4.2 Configuring ECG Settings
To configure ECG settings:
1. In the Setup section of the ECG menu, select the options described in the following
table.
Stress loop
Options Description Settings*
Lead Placement Enters the Lead Placement

Cable Type Selects the current ECG leadwire type. Auto , 3 Lead, 5 Lead, 6 Lead
