9. Periodic verification and service
9.1 Periodic verification
The following periodic verification must be performed on electrical installations in compliance with
the local or national regulations that apply. We recommend for your Bender products:
* This test must only be performed by an electrically skilled person who has been appointed to do so
in agreement with the person responsible for the medical location concerned.
* * Acc. to DIN VDE 0100-710 (VDE 0100-710):2012-10: an interval of 12 months is recommended.
Acc. to DIN VDE 0100-710 (VDE 0100-710):2002-11: an interval of 6 months is recommended.
Thereby the minimum requirements are satisfied.
Bender recommends a monthly test to ensure that the operating personnel is familiar with the test-
ing procedure in the event of a fault.
With all the tests, follow the instructions for carrying out functional tests on the checklist in the ap-
pendix of this manual. If no local/national directives apply, at least periodic verification as recom-
mended by DIN VDE 0100-710 (VDE 0100-710) is recommended for use in medical locations.

SCADA system (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)* (if
applicable) and the interaction between the components on the
system.
The test encompasses the following:
- Inspection:
Labels, display elements, mechanical components,
wiring, torque settings, parameter settings, connection
third-party equipment, evaluation of fault memory
- Measurement:
Internal/external supply voltages/potentials,
bus voltage, bus protocol, bus scan
- Testing:
Device function, device communication
- Documentation:
Test results, recommendations for eliminating defects
