Red 

Indicates a local internal fault. 

ABN 

Yellow 

Indicates a remote fault or abnormal 
condition.  The light appears yellow 
when:  

• 

An input has an incoming 
failure; i.e., a Loss of Signal 
(LOS). 

• 

A port is in loopback. 

Green 
On  

Indicates that the module has been 
equipped for service.  See Note. 

ACT 

Green 
Blinking

Indicates that the module is ready 
and in standby mode. 

Note:

  For some software versions, when a protected 

IOM fails, the first IOM to fail will switch to protection 
and its FLT LED will be solid red and the ACT LED will 
be flashing green.  The second IOM to fail cannot switch
