Operation
Operating Concepts
Select a preset source and press ‘Chop’ to start the chop function. Press ‘Chop’ again to stop the
chop function.
Clear Preset
The ‘Clear Preset’ button removes all preset entries (while leaving the panel in the same mode).
The clear preset button has the side effect of switching off ‘Save Preset’ mode.
The default button text is “Clear Preset” but the button can have any legend.
Default State
This button returns the NV9640A to its most recent power-up state. You may consider this
button an emergency button or a “soft reset” button.
S
This button does
not
affect any previous routes. Only the panel itself is reset.
The default button text is “Default State” but the button can have any legend.
Destination
This button selects a destination.
A destination button can occur on any page, but destination buttons often appear in destina-
tion lists. Destination lists can occur either (1) in automatically configured, but static, pages or (2)
as a result of pressing a destination category button, in which case, the destinations buttons are
generated dynamically. In either case, you navigate through multiple pages by pressing the
back and forward buttons.
The button text is normally the destination name, but the configurer can give it any text.
Dynamically generated destination lists, however, use the device names defined in the NV9000
configuration.
Destination names are often created as a concatenation a category mnemonic with a device
index.
S
Note that an MD destination button is actually a selection button and is not a destination
button.
Destination Lock
This button is a toggle that sets or clears a
lock
on the current destination. The lock can be
removed at the panel that originally set the lock, at a panel that has the same user ID, or by a
forced release at any panel.
MD Mode
In MD mode, a locked destination has an “L” next to it when it appears in the display. When you
select a locked MD destination with a button, the ‘Destination Lock’ button goes high-tally.
The ‘Destination Lock’ button text is normally “Dest Lock” and when a selected MD destination
is locked, the button legend becomes “Dest Unlock.”
To lock or unlock MD destinations, select the destinations and press a ‘Destination Lock’ button.
